Gah. Now where did my picture go?

Hi there, everyone who's still bothering to check this for updates. Long time no see. First, I would like to assure everyone that I am NOT dead! No! I merely occasionally wish I were. (Kidding, just kidding, really... sorry.)

The reason for my long absence is simple. For the last four months, I've been having recurring migraines. As in, averaging two a day. Attempts at treatment have had mixed results; the headaches themselves are now fewer and usually weaker than they were, but I'm also suffering from photophobia (translation: light hurts) and visual interference (translation: I can now see pretty sparkles all the time, without having to be hit over the head). As a result, I'm not working, I'm going to have to take academic leave this semester, and I can't use my computer nearly as often or as much as I would like. The drug side effects from my treatment are also not much fun.

I am not, however, dwelling in misery. When I can, I read. When I can, Christy and I write. When I can't, well, I have pretty fish to watch, cats to pat, knitting to do and so forth. Money is not yet a problem. Life does NOT suck. Just don't be surprised if mail goes unanswered, or chapters take a long time to get out...

I'll keep you posted when I can, okay?

Gak. Migraines not fun, speaking from experience >.< I had one constantly for four months about a year ago - all day, all the time. My doctor ended up prescribing some anti-depressants that seemed to do the trick. Why anti-depressants? I will never know.
Ahem. Yes. So, hugs and mental chocolate chip cookies (I could mail them, but they might get a little stale), and take it easy. We can all survive without ficcage for a while.

^_^ Apparently there's a couple of antidepressant drugs that have a nice side-effect; they fix migraines. That's why. Heck, I'm currently on a combination of one drug that's normally given to lower blood pressure, and one that's used to control epilepsy. (I have been taken OFF the drug that's actually intended to be a migraine suppressant and the one that's a sleep aid, because they were giving me side-effects from hell.)

Thanks for the hugs and mental cookies! I'll buy myself some real ones and eat 'em in your name!
