Snakes and crickets and bears, oh my!
Oct. 18th, 2002 01:54 pmI have homework and stuff to do, so this will have to be quick...
FUN THINGS TO DO AT KANAZAWA UNIVERSITY
#1: walk around campus wearing slogan t-shirt (in English) and watch Japanese students try to read it discreetly before you walk out of range.
#2: walk around campus wearing slogan t-shirt (in Japanese) and watch Japanese students try to work out if you know what it says.
#3: suddenly discover small and pretty but very poisonous snakes in odd locations (yessss... I did that! I got a photo, which is on my homepage, and also you can check out http://www2.gol.com/users/nhavens/htmlfile/snakes-e.html and look at the yamakagashi... that's the type I found. We also apparently have mamushi vipers in the area, but I haven't seen one yet. I can live without THAT experience.)
#4: read notice boards and see things like warning notice... featuring cute cartoon bear with mouth and paws dripping blood. (Bear droppings have been found near the road to town... we've been warned against walking along there after dark.)
#5: meet Mothra's mother, plastered to your window and staring in aggressively. (I believe I mentioned the mega-moths...)
#6: become She Who Meets All The Wildlife. (None of the other exchange students are encountering anything more interesting than a moth or two, or the local kamikaze wasps... well, one girl discovered a cricket up her pants leg, but... anyway. I get to be the person who finds lizards, giant frogs, and yamakagashi snakes at random locations around the campus! *giggle* I, er, don't really want to continue this trend far enough to meet one of the local bears, though...)
heh. I love it here.

My theory
Date: 2002-10-17 11:11 pm (UTC)Marie and I saw some medium-sized quail-like ground birds running around (God they looked delicious) and I`ve been chasing little lizards around.. no exciting snakes or bears yet...
You know those huge green spiders? Haru tells me they are called bitch (or woman, if you wanna be decent about it) spiders.. ehh.. Joochokumo, I think.. ehh, I forget. You probably know what I mean Mz. C class. Hrmm, yes.
Oh yeah, there was also this demented crow with nasty neck feathers that kept trying to eat this bit of plastic..
Damnit, I wanna see some snakes! >.<

Re: My theory
And yes, I know what you mean about the spiders, Mz B Class. *snicker* I can't claim genius as the cause, though; would you believe they were mentioned in one of my manga?
Re: My theory
I`m not surpised at all, somehow.
:p
-FlareCarrot, 100% pure... well.. crap I guess.
