Two weeks and counting! And my visa authorisation from the Japanese government arrived today, so that's one more thing falling into place. Next step: Mel Invades the Japanese Embassy and Demands Paperwork!
Sounds like an old B-movie hatched from the desperate mind of a down-on-his-luck director: The Attack of Melzilla! Look out Japanese embassy! Ruuuuuuuuuun! Flee for your liiiiiiives!! It's Melzilla! *is fwapped with the Wiffle Bat of Plagarism for being an unimaginative onna* Oooh . . . X.x You do realize I am insanely jealous and may have to kick plans for my cloning machine ahead of the thingummy for crossdimensional transportation so I can take your place. *is fwapped with the WBoP again* Oww . . . Gundammit, Tiro, keep that fool thing to yourself! Anyways . . . I had a point! Honest! Yes, I hope you have bunches o' fun in Japan and manage to write more Demon of Justice and Rebuiling before you go. *waves the WBoP threateningly* Or else! Ta ta, darling!

Hi, I'm Melanie's Mum. Last night friends of Melanie & I farewelled Melanie at Canberra Airport - after she had to repack her bag (for the second time!!) to reduce the excess luggage bill! She STILL had to pay over $200 and that was with a generous airport attendant looking after her. Needless to say, I am thrilled for Melanie, hugely proud of her, and will miss her to bits. But, I am on my personal "budget from Hell" so Bill (my husband) and I can visit her in the Japanes spring. Fantastic!!
Yay! News that she's touched down and posted has spread like wildfire and there's now one very relieved boyfriend back in Canberra. No more jumping for the phone and shaving a few years off the cat's 9 lives. (Not twitchy at all!)
Yes, I'm also doing the mother of all budgets and hope to be there in 6-8 months time.
