melredcapAccording to what Ruth has found out, Stupid Neighbour was resorting to petrol because she'd already tried to kill the passionfruit vine with Roundup and it hadn't worked. (I coulda told her that. Stuff's resistant to almost everything...)
According to what else Ruth has found out, Stupid Neighbour tried petrol on the vine because she uses it on her own weeds.
...I'm amazed the whole suburb hasn't gone up in flames, really. Especially seeing as when she flung that cupful of petrol onto the passionfruit vine, it was what she had left over from pouring quantities of petrol all over her own yard in an effort to kill her weeds.

.........I have no words. Really. Except that I'm considering starting up a betting circle on how long it'll be before Stupid Neighbour's house goes up in smoke. She's got to be incredibly lucky - otherwise the fireball in Ruth's yard would have set off an even bigger one in Stupid Neighbour's yard, probably crisping her in the process and almost certainly setting multiple houses on fire - but it's got to run out sometime.
(Oh. Also, Stupid Neighbour is going to be paying for the hot water service to be repaired or replaced, because the drowning it suffered on Saturday has killed its igniter. Whee. :P)
