*Phew!*

The house is still there, and, more importantly, so are my friends, the cats, and the dog. There are still fires burning around Canberra, and it's likely that they'll be posing a danger again later this week as the weather goes nasty again (hot and windy), but probably not to us. There won't be any rain until *maybe* Monday, and even then it's unlikely to be enough to be much help.

Talk about an emotional roller-coaster! "Aargh, the house might burn down... phew, it didn't. But it might burn down today! ...escaped again. Today is OK, good! But tomorrow's weather looks HORRIBLE! Turns out it's not as bad as predicted, thank goodness. But SATURDAY could be..." I think I've broken my mental shock absorbers or something. I have also discovered that when I'm REALLY stressed, my right eye will twitch gently for hours on end.

The weather here, in the meantime, has been perfect for putting out fires. As usual. Rain, snow, more rain, repeat the next day; there aren't very many days here where you don't get SOME form of precipitation. I honestly don't think you could get a bushfire going here if you pre-soaked a tree or two with kerosene and lit them with a blowtorch. Now, if I could just send some of this wet stuff to Canberra...

Hey, whats with this talk of setting Kanazawa`s trees on fire? We need to protect the boonies..! Because, umm, all sorts of wildlife `n rednecks an` stuff out here in the middle of nowhere.. eehh.. ok, cut it all down, send it all to Canberra and torch the rest.

The weather today is hot and miserable. But from what I've heard, they are managing to hold the Canberra fires for now. Here's hoping.

i hope ya make it through the stress. fires are like the ultra stressers! i was freaking out every time my older bro went out to help rescue people stuck in the litraly burning mountions! he's a fireman/paramidic. i really hope every ones ok!
