Several months on a fairly whacking serious medication has knocked my arthritis down to a more manageable level (along with my already poor immune system and my tolerance for sunlight*, but those are minor as far as possible side effects from this stuff go), as a result of which I've been able to do crafts again. Knitting, sewing, etc, all have been going quite well, without my hands turning into painful swollen mittens.
I found my new tolerance limit today. :P Apparently in the space of a couple of weeks I can machine-sew three things, machine-finish one, and hand-finish one and a third. The last two-thirds of the last thing** are sitting there looking at me, needing to be done before about midday tomorrow, and my hands are doing the "painful swollen mitten" thing again. I can type OK if I'm careful (phew!), but holding a needle and manipulating rather a lot of heavy fabric is... um... problematic. (Threading a needle is a right bitch.) Hiyo, anti-inflammatories, away!
Wish me luck. XD

** 'things' left deliberately vague because we're talking about Christmas presents here, and at one point far back in the dim mists of time, the person for whom two of them are intended had the URL for my LJ. She probably lost it long ago, but if I got specific you can guarantee that's when she'd find it again. Hi, Mum!
